DESCENDER – ESCAPEWAY
A MODULAR SOLUTION TO ESCAPEWAY & VENT RAISE LINING
Descender is a permanent, modular lining system for raises. Components are installed in compression, descending from top to bottom. Installation of the solid-steel Escapeway components can be completed in days, providing a safe and fully enclosed method of egress with the added security of stamped and engineered tie-off points, landings and handrails.

Escapeway and ventilation needs are always changing as we mine deeper at an accelerated rate. Sub-levels are further apart due to more accurate blasting, and mechanized methods of mining are creating massive excavations with reduced stope access points resulting in fewer ventilation options. There is an ever-growing demand for more efficient, more reliable and safer means of fulfilling egress and ventilation requirements. MOVE ORE EFFICIENTLY
The movement of ore is critical to an underground mining operation. Millions of dollars are spent developing and constructing muck circuits, which are integral to mine output. Descender Ore Pass is a cost-effective solution for protecting and preserving these passes from deterioration through the use of a customizable lining system. Quickly mobilized and installed, Descender is also ideal for rehabilitation of existing Ore Passes getting you back to optimal production as soon as possible.

Ore pass design has always involved some compromise between cost, production reliability, efficiencies, and contingency planning. More efficient flow-through designs come with added expense due to necessary (and costly) contingency measures. Muck moves more freely with this scheme. However, it degrades the ore pass at a faster rate resulting in early failure. Any of the following can contribute to ore pass loss: structural breakdown, scaling of walls, impact, abrasion and blast damage. Descender virtually eliminates these factors by installing a solid, wear resistant structure from top to bottom.

SHOP CAPABILITIES
Titan has the equipment, employees and experience to provide full service custom metal fabrication delivering the quality parts and products you need. Our fabrication facility works with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel. Primary welding processes we use are FCAW, GMAW-S and SMAW. We work two shifts to make sure we deliver as promised.

Design
Titan maintains a fully staffed design department, in a variety of disciplines, to provide our customers with start to finish innovative custom solutions. Our team has the ability to deliver everything from concept sketches to complete 3D models with detailed fabrication drawings, whether it is for a complete one-off design or upgrades to an existing part.
Titan maintains working relationships with multiple PE’s around the country for projects requiring certified drawings and calculations. We have the capability to provide stamped drawings for all 50 states. Some examples of our Professional Engineering capabilities include ROPS and FOPS re-certification, man baskets, equipment stands, lifting devices, steel structures and much more.
